In response to the financial blessing we have received, we launched our foundation in 1989 as a vehicle for charitable giving.
Dick DeVos is very active in the community, including co-chairing Grand Action, which has been a leader in revitalizing downtown Grand Rapids; and serving as a board member of Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Willow Creek Association, Spectrum Health System, and the West Michigan Aviation Academy.
Betsy DeVos is a champion for top-notch education for all students, regardless of their location or socioeconomic level. Betsy currently serves on a number of national and local boards including the DeVos Institute of Arts Management, American Federation for Children, ArtPrize, Philanthropy Roundtable, and American Enterprise Institute.
Both Dick and Betsy DeVos are actively involved with The Windquest Group, a Michigan-based, privately held investment management firm with diversified projects in technology, manufacturing, clean-tech industry, hospitality, and nonprofit solutions.
Betsy and Dick have been married for over 30 years. They have four children, a daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.
